print publications
I started my career in journalism a few years out of college when I was hired by Dow Jones as a copy editor on the overnight shift. Eventually I was sent to Japan to cover the Finance Ministry and Foreign Exchange markets. In 1995, I was hired by CNBC Asia as a producer and reporter (you can see my CNBC Reports here) before taking a sabbatical from journalism in 1997. I returned to journalism on a freelance basis in 2000.

Below is a collection of some of my work that has appeared in print publications. I update this page as soon as publications appear on newsstands.

Left: Short interview with Helen Fielding, author of "Bridget Jones's Diary" on the eve of the film version release. Vogue Japan, June 2001. Right: I asked 30 women in the U.S. what they thought was either an erotic film or what was an erotic scene from a film. Vogue Japan, May 2003. (I write my articles in English first, and editors at VJ translate).

The Asian Wall Street Journal, February 1995. Near the height of acrimonious U.S.-Japan trade relations.
A feature I wrote for Dow Jones about silverware makers in Japan. Sept. 1994. (What you'll see is a copy of a printout from a newswire service monitor).
Above are two of many articles I wrote while a correspondent for Dow Jones's International News Service, also known as AP-Dow Jones. Occasionally my reports appeared in the Asian Wall Street Journal. Most of the time, they popped up on monitors on trading desks. And quickly disappeared, too. Warning: the content is deeply sedative. You may need a cup of coffee to keep your eyelids up.
YogaMom is a very new publication, and I'm very proud to have been published in their inaugural issue. The magazine, targeted mostly toward women who strive to balance work and family and manage magically to squeeze a yoga practice in their busy lives, is published quarterly.

Two articles I penned for the Fall 2008 issue:

Yoga For You

I Downward Dog Dare You: Kids and Bullies
